Nobody reads text posts: About Asking for What You Want
So one of the things that saved my life in high school was fashion blogging.
I’m not even kidding.
I discovered my passions a little “late in life”, as I thought at the time. I didn’t realize that my life in the “art world” could actually be possible, until late in my high school game. I came across Gala Darling’s blog. She calls any brand of positive self-care and self-image “Radical Self Love”. She writes about positivity, about loving yourself, and about asking for what you want.
I started to apply this last concept to my personal spiritual life. You can totally ask God or the Universe or whatever you believe it, for things that you want. You can say, please God, grant me patience. Please help me advance in my career. I really want to find love. Whatever it is that you want at that moment.
So I started asking for things. Because I truly believe; if you can dream it, visualize it, and imagine it, then you can have it (if you work towards it!)
So I’ve been asking for things (trying not to ask for things in a selfish or greedy way, ya know), and getting frustrated when it seems like the are not coming fast enough, when it seems like no progress is being made towards these things that I want.
And just now, I realized, maybe I am not ready for them. Maybe I have some more growing to do, some more loving, some more self actualizing, before I really can appreciate and do right by these gifts. Maybe I will not be able to do right by them, to make a difference for them or with them, at this particular moment. I won’t be good for them yet! So you need to work on or towards different things, in order to be ready for other things, when they do finally arrive. Or maybe by that time, you don’t want those original things at all anymore. So keep visualizing! Keep asking! But keep in mind, maybe you are suited for a different purpose.
It might be different, it might be more, it might not come exactly when you want it.
Just some current thoughts.
Everything does come at the right time, you just have to try to see the bigger picture. And maybe you can’t see it yet! ‘Cause you’re still in it!
